I am looking for the best business practice to reporting based on higher level divisions within SAP.
For a simple example of an Org structure is set up as follows:
O - Company ABC
O - Finance
O - Accounts Payable
O - Accounts Receivable
O- Treasury
O - Human Resources
O - Services
O-Payroll
O- Admin
O- Recruitment
O- compensation
O- Operations
O- Plant Water
O- Safety
O- Environment
O-Plant Fire
O - Safety
O- Environment
I want to be able to report and easily identify our divisions or department,
so in the example above, that would be Finance, Human Resource, Plant Water and Plant Fire
This is mostly for our talent management group but would be used by all of HR. Is the best approach to create a custom object and assign it at the org level? Is there an object already? How do I ensure that inheritance occurs, so I can say this position belongs to this division.
Please don't say IT1003 Department Flag, I implemented that and it did not fit our needs and eventually undid it.
