Six months back Employees record was created in SAP HCM system using Mini-Master action. It had created minimum Infotypes as per the business need. It has OM & PA integration in SAP but did not implement Benefits, Time Management and Payroll solutions in SAP. But, now our client needs to modify Mini Master employee records into actual hire actions and real start date for all employees, with existing SAP employee number. This changes only required to Infotype Actions (0000) and Infotype Organizational Assignment (0001). Rest of the infotypes start date not necessary to have Infotype Actions (0000) start date.
Listed below are the options, which I can think may suitable to fulfill the above said changes.
1. Use standard SAP "Change entry / Leaving date" process for the actual hire date & right actions to update in Infotype 0000 and other changes in Infotype 0001. Write some custom code with in the process to stop the start date of the rest of the infotypes related records.
2. Use any one of the non-Hire / Rehire actions to record the Infotype 0000 and Infotype 0001 related changes only and write some custom code to modify the start date, action type, reason for actions, Organizational Unit, Job, Positions and Payroll area fields in respective infotypes.
3. Write ABAP Program to make the necessary changes in Infotype 0000 and Infotype 0001 fields and ensure the integration and other processes do not get impact. To this option, the challenge will be the Infotype 0000 and Infotype 0001 field "AEDTM" should have the data upload date. Otherwise, it will cause issue to the existing ALE / IDoc segments for change control data extract.
