Re : Madhya Pradesh PTax Issue

Dear Experts,


Scenario :

 

In Madhya Pradesh State an employee's monthly Gross salary is 1,66,000 and he resigned on 15.05.2014,

 

So, in current financial year (2014 -2015) he worked only one and half month, but due to his salary exceeded the MP Ptax slab (1,80,000),

SAP system deducted Ptax deduction 2,500 in full and final settlement process.

 

Please provide clarification for below points.

 

1. As per MP Ptax slab if gross is exceeded more than 180,000 then the monthly deduction would be 208*11 month and in last month 212

 

(Total = 2,500) for Annual.

 

So in this case, in above scenario the employee worked in current financial year only one and half month so the PTax deduction would be only 208.


So kindly clarify whether system need to be deduct only 208 or entire 2500 (based on his salary slab) ?


2. After resigned, the employee plan to join in some other company in same Madhya Pradesh state, then in new company Ptax need to deducted for this employee or not for coming months or not ? (as already Ptax deducted for full year based on the slab),


I very much appreciated if someone provide information to clarify the issue.
