I have a very strange problem.

I need to hire people using PA40 with external number ranges. In PA04, I change number range 01 (from 00000001 - 99999999) to external.

Then I enter PA40, enter the employee number and the other IT0000 information, and press enter. The result is:

Number range 01 is internal, do not enter a personnel number (PG033)

Let me stress now that the number range is correctly set as external. If i remove the personnel number in the IT0000 screen, and press enter I get the following error:

Number range 01 is external,  enter a personnel number (PG032)

So it appear that number range 01 is both internal/external according to SAP, or neither internal/external.

I should mention that this issue is only present on one client. In the other clients (who have settings/customizing updated by the same transports) this is working as intended.

Anyone have the slightest idea what the problem could be?
